The Uganda Tri-State Community Association was established to serve and strengthen the Ugandan community across the Tri-State area. UTCA exists to bring people together, create a strong sense of belonging, and support the social, cultural, educational, and economic needs of Ugandans both in the United States and in Uganda.
As a community-centered nonprofit organization, UTCA is committed to preserving heritage, encouraging togetherness, and creating meaningful opportunities for connection, support, and growth.
Our mission is rooted in the values of Culture, Unity and Prosperity. We work to uplift and connect Ugandans in the Tri-State area by promoting cultural identity, social engagement, education, economic well-being, and community support.
Through events, outreach, partnerships, and shared community efforts, UTCA strives to create a family atmosphere where members feel connected, informed, empowered, and proud of their heritage.
We envision a united and thriving Ugandan community in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut — one that celebrates its culture, supports its members, strengthens future generations, and contributes positively both locally and internationally.
UTCA seeks to be a trusted community platform where culture is preserved, unity is strengthened, and prosperity is encouraged through collective support and meaningful action.
This vision is an interpretation of UTCA’s stated mission and objectives.
We celebrate and preserve Ugandan heritage by creating space for cultural pride, traditions, and shared identity within the diaspora community.
We foster belonging and togetherness by bringing people together through social engagement, community events, and mutual support.
We encourage growth and well-being by supporting educational, social, and economic opportunities that help individuals and families thrive.
UTCA carries out its mission through community-centered objectives that guide its work and impact.
To cater for the cultural, educational, social, and economic needs of Ugandans both in the Tri-State area and Uganda.
To act as a liaison between donor organizations outside Uganda and relevant organizations and projects in Uganda involved in charitable work for improving living conditions.
To provide Ugandans in the Tri-State area with a sense of belonging and a family atmosphere through social evenings and cultural festivals.
To serve as a resource center for information about Uganda, the Ugandan community in the Tri-State area, and the United States at large.
To support charitable programs in Uganda that promote relief, rehabilitation, and economic self-sufficiency for Ugandans both in the Tri-State area and in Uganda.
UTCA is more than an organization — it is a growing community built on shared identity, support, and service. We believe in creating opportunities for Ugandans to connect, celebrate, support one another, and work together toward a stronger future.
By building bridges across families, generations, and communities, UTCA continues to create a positive and lasting impact throughout the Tri-State area and beyond.
Join us as we continue to promote culture, strengthen unity, and create opportunities that support the Ugandan community across New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.
